Max turned 10 months old on August 1st. He is doing very well other than a bunch of new top teeth that bothered him for awhile. He has two bottom teeth and two top teeth and at least two more top teeth are ready to come through. He is so funny, smart, stubborn, silly, adorable, and I could go on and on and on. More, you say, okay! He makes Scott and I laugh everyday with his outgoing personality. He knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. He LOVES to eat and stuffs food in his mouth faster than anyone I know. A new favorite food is penne pasta with marinara sauce. He likes to open/close doors, climb stairs, crash his walker into us as fast as he can and laugh when he does, wave hi and bye to anything and everything, scream for fun, throw his head back in a fit and make his body go limp, clear a shelf/bathroom cabinet/kitchen cupboard in a matter of seconds, play with kitchen objects, say mama and dada (thanks Grammy for teaching him dada, although now he seems to have forgotten all about mama) and rararara (which might be Rex or maybe not), throw a ball with us or the dogs and chase after it, clap his hands, listen to his music and dance, splash in the water at bathtime or when he swims, crawl around in the nude, have mommy and daddy crawl chase after him, sort things, hug/kiss/cuddle mommy and daddy, copy everything we do after seeing it only a couple of times (like I said, SMART), "shoot" baskets, lift and carry quite heavy objects (he is freakishly strong), and go for walks in his stroller to the park to swing. Whew, he is busy, busy, busy! I cannot imagine what I would be without him. Being his mom is the most AMAZING thing.
This month I went back to work. I have a wonderful class and feel so lucky to have some very sweet students and supportive parents to work with this year. I am so unbelievably heartbroken that I do not get to spend my mornings and afternoons with Max, but I know that has only made me appreciate our time together even more. I cherished every moment of our time together this summer. Grammy came this month and stayed with Max at home for my first official week with my students. We were SO EXCITED to see her again and have her here with us! It was such a nice, calm feeling knowing he could just be at home with my mom taking care of his every need and want and knowing he was HAPPY! She was also be here to celebrate Aunt Sarah's 31st birthday and my 30th! Wow, I cannot believe I am thirty; where did my 20's go? Uncle Jarrod came to visit this month too. He had not seen Max since Christmas so he was in for a big surprise when he saw just how much he has grown and learned. Max was so excited to see him! It seems like he truly remembers the important people in his life. Not surprising though because he is just the smartest and most observant baby I have ever been around.
Max has been getting more and more comfortable each day he attends his school. It was a very hard transition for both of us. Okay, maybe me more than him, but we are hanging in there and trying our best! He still goes to Nana's 1 and a half days a week and loves being with her and Pop when he comes home early. Also, I will be sharing some new and exciting news in my next post. I thought it deserved it's own title. For now, I leave you with some pictures and videos of the last month.
the used car Grammy and Max picked up on one of their walks; he loves it!
my sweet baby nephew, Jasper (Jarrod's dog; currently living with my mom) i love him!
