Ready for School
So, I am sure you are all thinking that I am ready for school, but I was referring to my sweet Max. On Tuesday I went to my classroom to get things ready for Meet Your Teacher Day next Thursday and for the first day of school. Max also went to school that day for the first time! He had a great first (trial) day and the director told me he is quickly becoming a favorite among ALL the teachers, not just the ones in his classroom. No surprise there! They were learning about South Africa this week so he and the other babies played soccer inside, learned (or listened to) I love you in Africaans Language, and sang South African nursery rhymes; so cute! They also drew with invisible ink and read a book where they could feel different textures. He took a short nap, ate all his food I packed him, but did not want his bottle. He waved bye to me when I dropped him off; I cried. He hugged me so tight and had the biggest smile when I got there to pick him up. I missed him terribly! Although I hate leaving him even for a minute; really I HATE leaving him even for a minute. I know this will be so good for him to play with other babies and learn all the wonderful things they are going to teach him at school. His teachers are all so sweet and comforting and loving, to both of us! I love that they give us a paper everyday with the activities Max took part in, when and what he ate, when he napped, and when they changed his diaper and what was in it; so helpful to know these things! We are off to a good start although he won't officially begin for a couple more weeks. Thanks to my mom and Sarah for going with me earlier this summer to visit schools for Max and help me make this super important decision! I couldn't have done it without you both. It was amazing because when we walked into this school (the last of the ones we had planned on seeing) we all had the same warm and fuzzy feeling about it but didn't tell eachother that until after we left. We did not feel that way about the other places so I know it is meant to be Max's school. It is right on my way to school too, I don't have to drive out of the way AT ALL!
